This year, the X-Men took their final Fox-related bow with Dark Phoenix, a movie based directly on the titular comic book storyline. Directed by feature length debutant Simon Kinberg, this movie starred Sophie Turner as the title character, who struggles with her dark side, due to the aftermath of a space mission gone wrong.

The strongest point of the movie, as many soundtrack fans would agree, is Hans Zimmer's musical score. Bolstered by some well-constructed themes and orchestrations, the musical side of the X-Men Universe received a fitting final hurrah. The soundtrack was improved significantly, however, by the Xperiments expansion, which featured several demo recordings, alternative cues and unused/unreleased tracks that were all interesting listens, to say the least.

Sadly, due to the underperforming box office haul, Fox has thus far scrapped a CD release of this great pair of soundtracks. That's why we hope that, through this Suggestion Box, it might come off the ground one way or another.

Agree with you on wanting a CD version of the soundtrack. The movie was terrible except for the soundtrack which was a great soundtrack for a different movie.
