In 2004, director James Wan and screenwriter/actor Leigh Whannell made their feature-length debut feature Saw. This movie revitalised the horror genre, more specifically the torture horror subgenre, and continues to have a loyal fanbase. After the original, six sequels followed, one every year, during its Halloween period. After Saw VII, which was released in 2010, the franchise went dormant for several years, but the series' eighth feature, Jigsaw, was released in 2017. In May 2020, the next Saw movie, a spin-off pre-emptively called The Organ Donor, will arrive to continue the franchise's momentum.
Over all eight movies, the musical score was composed by former Nine Inch Nails band member Charlie Clouser. Sadly, these scores, with the exception of Jigsaw, haven't seen a full release. While Lakeshore Records did release two compilation CDs with several cues from all eight movies, many fans, myself included, are still hoping for a full release of the scores from the original septology of movies.
It would be an amazing opportunity to see the scores from the original seven movies be released on CD. The idea would be to have them release both individually and as a collector's item box set. The first five movies would each have a 2-CD release (thanks to research on Score Revolution I know the entire score encompasses more than eighty minutes), while VI and VII would be single discs (or double, if these would include bonus/alternative cues).
