I’ve come to love a good, classic album from the ‘60s and ‘70s. They are often concise and well configured, and sound far better than the common alternative of poor sounding music stems. The Intrada label sometimes offers us combos of these albums that provide extraordinary value for the few of us who can appreciate it. Here are some ideas for future album twofers.

Modesty Blaise/Fathom (Dankworth) – Legit and sounding good.

Love Scene/Dick Powell Presents (various, conducted by Elmer Bernstein/various, conducted by Herschel Burke Gilbert)

Barefoot in the Park/No Way to Treat a Lady (Hefti/Myers)

Fast Break/It’s My Turn (Shire/Williams)

The Trial of Billy Jack/Washington: Behind Closed Doors (Bernstein/Frontiere)

Masada/QB VII (Goldsmith) - Original albums with much needed new transfers and mastering.

Columbo (Goldenberg/Mellé)

Five more, since these are so popular and likely to sell more than 10 million copies:

Gable and Lombard/Breezy (Legrand)

The Other Side of the Mountain/The Other Side of the Mountain Part 2 (Fox/Holdridge)

Hello-Goodbye/A Flea in Her Ear (Lai/Kaper)

I'll Never Forget What's'isname/Winning (Lai/Grusin)

For Love of Ivy/Lovers and Other Strangers (Jones/Karlin)

All fantastic suggestions...particularly Masada/QBVII of course. :) That could have some definite sales potential. Actually how about a three disc set...Masada complete original recording reissued/remastered plus a third disc with those two great UMG albums. I'd pay $40 for that, easy! And I already own the earlier versions...imagine all the people who missed out on one or all of those three releases.

With a 5,000-copy run, I feel that the original Masada recording had run its course. There's so much to release from Universal the studio and so little coming out that I would hate to have a reissue take place of something unreleased. Think about all of the prime unreleased Universal miniseries alone, such as Centennial, Captains and the Kings and Wheels.

I just yesterday thought how great especially a release of the Fox would be. Beautiful score.
