Post subject:  Arlon Ober's Score for "The Incredible Melting Man"

Hi there,

A few months ago I came across a good ol' B-rated Sci-Fi "The Incredible Melting Man", written and directed by William Sachs and released in 1977.
The thing that really struck me was the great score composed by Arlon Ober.

Of course I had a look to see if the score had been made available at some point during the forty years that have elapsed since the film's release but as is so often the case with lesser known productions (should I say, less well-financed ones) it soon became obvious that this interesting score has never seen the light of day. It's a real shame too because it has all the great elements one would expect from a 70s Sci-Fi soundtrack (synthesizer included) and more.

I wonder if the multi-track session tapes for this score still exist or if they've been left to degrade to nothingness. I do know that MGM released the film on DVD awhile ago and it has since been re-released by Shout! Factory as a Blu-ray edition with special features to boot.

I do feel that this would make an interesting release for the Intrada label or something the good folk over at the label could at least look into. Should all the elements for the score be available and indeed if enough interest in such a project could be mustered then I believe it could be a great addition to your catalogue.
