Intrada Soundtrack Forum

I was wondering how many people here would be interested in a soundtrack release for the Rankin/Bass version of 'The Hobbit'? There was a soundtrack album released through Buena Vista Records around the time the film was made (note: there was also an album consisting of the film's mono audio track complete with voices and sound effects, but the album I'm referring to on Buena Vista Records consisted of just the music and was in stereo), but it only included the film's songs (but even then with one song missing and another song included that never appeared in the film) and a couple of the instrumental tracks from the last few minutes of the film. It's a pleasant little soundtrack so it would be great if Intrada was able to release the full score and all the songs in their entirety and in stereo.

One other thing I would also be interested in regarding this soundtrack would be if Intrada was able to compile all the album and film versions of the songs together like what they've done on some of their other releases, as some of the versions of the songs heard on the soundtrack album were noticeably different mixes to what appeared in the film, and in the case of 'Roads', the album and film versions were totally different takes (on a side note, it would also be interesting to hear 'Gandalf's Recitation' both with and without the narration like what Intrada did with the end title music on their 'Clash of the Titans' reissue, but I don't know if the sessions still exist or not).

I would love this as well, plus Return of the King

Indeed. I would especially love to have the cue from the conversation with Smaug - the one that starts when Bilbo shouts "Revenge!" and continues through the "I am Smaug!" spiel.
