Though the original soundtrack album released by Columbia was quite lengthy (50 minutes!) by the LP standards of the time, a lot of Barry's dramatic score had to yield playing time to his own "source" music (which generally alternated with the dramatic scoring). If I had my way, the score and the source components would be separate programs on an expanded edition. But then, I'm not optimistic that the complete original track elements have survived. (Now if only this had been from Warner Brothers or Paramount or 20th, instead of Columbia Pictures!) |
