Understandably many want a physical CD (or 180g Vinyl), but lossless 24bit releases downloadable in FLAC or AIFF in the store for instant-purchase for audiophiles would be GREAT. No need to press or take chances on minimum quantity of physical releases... perhaps some scores could come out without a physical release if they have little or no real commercial potential. Perhaps even one off-downloadable HD tracks from soundtracks that we can't find anywhere for 30+ years... like Henry Mancini's "Ollie & Stan" rag piece from the otherwise all-80s songs, Blake Edwards' "A Fine Mess" Disney Legacy is releasing on HD (via HDTracks, Prostudio Masters, etc.) - I would have loved "The Rescuers Down Under" in HD (though I purchased the CD version of course). Anyone else have interest in 24/44.1 or 24/96 score re-releases? Jeff |

Intrada is a label for collectors that produces physical discs. Audio files are evanescent, while a physical disc will exist for many years. I don't think they should produce audio files, but i still think they should make Blu-ray audio discs with HD multi channels presentation of the scores (when they have access to the multitracks elements). |

Most important, HD digital files would concern only a very small group of people (amongst an already very small group of people listening to film music), because one would need a very special audio card on their computer and maybe a DAC to fully enjoy the high definition of the files. And to have your computer not far from your audio-video system in the living room, which is not easy for everyone While all the HD discs like DVD Audio/Video, HDAD or Blu-ray Audio would only need a DVD player or a Blu-ray player, which everyone has nowadays. |
