Upon meeting Charles Bernstein last year, I asked him if he would be interested in releasing a proper release of his complete orchestral score for Wes Craven's "Deadly Friend".

He replied with aplomb that he very much desires to, especially to include the interview which he held with Wes in it's entirety. I believe he mentioned that the interview was a truncated version on the Preserverence CD.

Anyways, that CD was only about three quarters of the orchestral score. There are some early cues (specifically the orchestral back porch romance, and full cue of "neighbors") that are missing.

So I am putting in a request for both Monsieur Bernstein and myself, for the complete Orchestral score, and on disc2the Varese synth album. What a great deal that would be!

An official album from Warner Bros. elements would be fantastic. I'm not sure if I would be all that enthused about paying extra for the synth album and the interview, but I have no problem leaving that for Intrada (or La-La Land) to decide.

Perhaps not the synth album. I figured for completists but you are right. I was never terribly fond.

Still, the interview contained both Charles AND Wes, and it's Charles wish that this interview be heard.

And of course, the absolute complete orchestral score would be very satisfying, as the Perserverence release was sorely lacking many cues, and contained only incomplete others.

Just the thought.

Well, Charles’ wishes would rightfully have precedence over mine any time. The studio would ultimately have to approve of the interview’s inclusion, though. He should just have it uploaded on his site as it’s apparently an interview that he produced himself.

Aside from not being sourced from studio elements, another issue with the current CD is that it’s a bootleg masqueraded as a “promo.” Perseverance could have slapped anything on there, including an interview between Al Roker and Princess Diana, since they did not go through the legal channels.

I am going to pull out this movie to watch this October!
