My ridiculous idea:

A collection of James Horner's scores for the many Universal Pictures films he made.

Box set? Probably prohibitively expensive, or similar to the big television box sets released by the labels.

Special collection with numbered entries, featuring a similar-themed artwork, released once every few months?

Much more plausible, especially with regards to spending the money on rights, but what do I know?

All I do know for certain is that James Horner wrote a LOT of great music for several Universal Pictures films:

All of which would benefit from either a remastering, an expansion, or in some cases both.

Those could be all of them, but honestly I'm not even 100% sure. I'd have to double-check that.

I know, it's a completely ridiculous and unrealistic idea, full of rights issues, fees, label agreements to argue over, etc...but this is a suggestion box, so I'm suggesting!

Perhaps the biggest issue with it being one big set, aside from cost, is that it would consist of a lot of Universal Pictures and UMG clearances, and both entities are said to be extremely busy. Unless it's a special occasion, we see so few Universal Pictures-owned score releases as it is.

Apollo 13 is very popular, so it is probably in Intrada's best interest to sell that expansion as a standalone. Sneakers, Field of Dreams, The Land Before Time, Balto and Batteries Not Included also seem to have good followings in the soundtrack community.

No matter what, I'm confident that these expansions will trickle through over time. As with most things Universal Pictures, our patience is required. That said, I do have a good feeling about Apollo 13 appearing sooner rather than later.

That's why I'm thinking my second idea of having it be a kind of separate branded collection of individual titles would work. A box set is just silly, but having them individually where they will all be connected through similar themed art and numberings and whatnot, would be a nice touch.
