A score with many of Goodwin's regal trademarks and exciting battle music, this would make an excellent album.

Anything by Ron Goodwin is always welcome. I would certainly buy it if released.
A very good re-recording conducted by Ron Goodwin of around 26 minutes of music from the film was released by Label X Europe in 1998.

Considering the great Goodwin CDs that Intrada has released recently...

I wonder if LANCELOT AND GUINEVERE could be a possibility anytime soon!!

I recently managed to purchase a European Region 2 PAL DVD of Lancelot and Guinevere (aka Sword of Lancelot) in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono from the Universal Cinema Classics range.
[The title card says “Sword of Lancelot”.] Interestingly the film opens with a Universal-International logo contrary to what IMDB states.

Never having seen the film before and previously only heard Goodwin’s re-recording with the Odense Symphony Orchestra I was very impressed with the music in context.

The film appears to have fallen in the public domain, at least as far as the U.S. is concerned, rather like another Universal movie from the same year – Charade.

Considering that the original film recordings for Charade survived to enable a CD release, what would be the chances for Lancelot and Guinevere [or Sword of Lancelot – in either name it would be welcome].

I have no clue about the current rights for this, but I’ve held out hope that the Goodwin estate has at least ¼” stereo tapes for this as was the case with numerous others of his scores.

But, we did get Unidentified Flying Oddball, a score that I am even more fond of. And we of course also got the gem that is Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
