Post subject:  YANKS by Richard Rodney Bennett

This was the composer's final film score of the '70's, and undoubtedly one of his most lyrical. It would probably make sense to the use the 40-minute program as originally released on LP. In case it was felt that this should be part of a double-bill soundtrack, I can't think of a better companion from Universal Music than the LP program for RED SKY AT MORNING by BIlly Goldenberg, inasmuch as both albums include a fair amount of 1940's popular music. (In the case of YANKS, re-recorded, and for the latter, original performances. I believe MCA had the rights to all the popular music used in RED SKY.)
