I loved the recent Intrada release of Cromwell. Is there any chance you could work the same magic with Laurence Rosenthals' "Becket" with his music on one disc and RCA's dialogue highlights on the other? |

I once owned the RCA LP of BECKET and, unless I'm mistaken, it has some music not on the score-only album. |

Since I posted my last my comments I've been able to source a copy of Rosenthal's score on a a promo label (Windermere Music). I have the LP of dialogue highlights but the music only LP was never released in the UK ( Ironically it's produced by the composer and one Douglass Fake!) We all know that whilst downloading albums is ok and convenient the real reason we collect CD is a) there is some residual value to a CD whereas you cannot sell your downloads and b) we all appreciate the work that goes into producing the CD and the very informative booklets. So although it is great to have this CD what I would really like is a definitive edition with both score and dialogue and informative liner notes. When Tribute Film Classics released Steiner's "The Charge of the Light Brigade" I was strapped for cash and opted for the cheaper download but of course there is no booklet with a download so in the end I ended up getting the CD when funds were available again. So that's the problem with downloads, having the music is only one part of collecting business. |

One Douglass Fake!? He's the owner of the label which hosts this website!! I know the music only LP was re-issued in Spain in the mid-80's and in Japan in the mid-70's. As even the score-only LP was issued domestically in Australia, I'd be very surprised if it didn't likewise appear in the U.K. |
