One last soundtrack that hasn't been released via CD, but did get an LP release on RCA Victor in both South Africa and UK. Anybody know ?why? this score hasn't been released on CD during the 1990's/00's? It's probably one of my favourites in the Delerue back catalouge. |

The 2_LP RCA album has barely any music at all -- virtually all dialogue -- not even the main title, which you can hear on the 6 CD Universal France set. |

There's also very little music in the film so I don't really have much of an opinion regarding this score. ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS: Now that's a score, with a decent amount of music, that I would like see released on CD. |

The more interesting question is, whether Delerue composed more music than was used in the movie itself (as happened with David Shire on NORMA RAE). On the next project Delerue worked with director Fred Zinnemann (THE DAY OF THE JACKAL), again, it's virtually an unscored movie except for the opening and end credits. There's more dramatic music for their final collaboration (JULIA) but not much. |
