Joe vs. the Volcano and Cable Hogue are tied up with Varese, both available on iTunes but the former is sold as a lossless download on HDtracks' site. If The French Connection is to be reissued, it should once again be coupled with Ellis' work for the sequel. A fantastic album that should be in print for as long as possible. |

I agree with T. Newman Fan and that the two French Connection scores should be coupled together. I'm sorry I missed out on that one. I liked Don Ellis' score to "The Seven Ups" which is now long out of print and sells for $40 dollars or more. I broke down and bought it though because I wanted the Seven Ups but also Johnny Mandel's music to "The Verdict" which is also contained on that Intrada release. Johnny Mandel's rejected score to "The Seven Ups" is also on that release for those who may not know. I think that release should be re-issued. I also feel the pain about Varese Sarabande. They do hold the key to several great scores and won't re-release them. |
