I love Maurice Jarre's scores to "No Way Out" and "Julia and Julia". Both are synthizizer scores from the 80s but I count them among his best. Varese Sarabande released the scores to CD which is long out of print and used copies sell for mega bucks. I'd love a re-release of these two scores. |

Varese likely has all album rights to Julia and Julia forever; they are selling it as a download. If you don't mind downloads, you can buy a lossless copy (CD quality) from HDtracks.com for just $10. If Intrada is in a Jarre reissuing mood and if Varese doesn't own the rights, I would gladly buy The Bride, which I've only recently became aware of. There aren't many 80s Jarre scores that I can appreciate as I've been becoming more acquainted with his works, but The Bride is a work of beauty. |

Yeah, I know that Julia and Julia is available on MP3. I just appreciate the regular CD and the original art work. I'm weird that way. Jarre also composed a beautiful score to "Dead Poet Society" which Varese also released along with tracks from Jarre's other scores from the 80s like "Witness", Mosquito Coast, and The Year of Living Dangerously." I'd welcome a re-release of "Dead Poet's Society" which I believe to be one of Jarre's best works. |

Unfortunately, I wouldn't count on Julia and Julia to be on CD ever again. That is unless Varese decides to re-release it that way, which is extremely doubtful. There's nothing any other label can do about it. Milan appears to now have perpetual album rights to Dead Poet's Society, but you can buy the CD for cheap on the used market if you don't mind an opened copy. |

I'm hopefuly they'll be released again but being as Varese owns the albums, it's not very likely. They specialize mostly in recent film releases but not in classic releases unless it's through their Varese Club which they only release a CD once in a very long while. |

The Music Box label has just released an expanded limited edition (500 copies) of the Maurice Jarre score from the WWII film "For Those I Loved" from 1983. |
