I saw "The Sentinel" a year ago. I wasn't too impressed with the movie despite it's terrific cast. I was however impressed with Gil Melle's score. I last read though, that the tapes of the score were lost. I hope that isn't true. |

The Sentinel is one of Mellé's absolute best and perhaps most marketable scores. Starship Invasions is another Mellé masterpiece for a feature film that desperately needs a release. This was made in Canada, so it might face the same cost-prohibitive union fees that plagues The Last Chase. |

Hi. I believe this exists, he said without getting into forbidden subjects. Heard on its own away from the movie wink wink it has some great moments but also some jarring cues that stylistically stick out and not in that good way. But I would buy anything of Melle`s because his was a unique musical voice and he`s one of those who for me defined the pre-Williams 70`s sound I like so much and which was smothered in the crib before its time. I agree it would be one of Melle`s more commercial titles, though that isn`t saying much. In a perfect world it would make a nice two-fer with A Cold Night`s Death, though I have no idea if that exists. [Offhand I can`t recall if Melle did Embryo, which might make a better companion.] |

I hope it makes a release in the near future. |

Gil Melle did, indeed, score EMBRYO. |
