Although the Soundtrack Collector database asserts that this has been issued on CD, I suspect an error (as the prefix and catalogue number which designates this listing is actually for the Chrysalis LP). Movies and TV series with a British Raj setting have inspired marvellous scores, and this is no exception. The main theme is one of the composer's most memorable, and he makes the most of a rich symphonic palette. If all that's available is the original album master, this would be more than adequate (with a 50+ minutes running time). |

I am pretty sure the CD does not exist. I have looked and cannot find one. The score is lovely (as with most of Carl Davis' work) and the central theme is superb. This is a definite must have for any fan of fine film music. KING DAVID... please, someone release this as well... |
