As Intrada did an incredible and definitive CD release of COOGAN'S BLUFF I hope they will continue to release further Lalo Schifrin scores for Universal on their CD label. I suggest that Schifrin's score for John Sturges' JOE KIDD should be the next Intrada/Schifrin CD release as this marvellous score urgently (like so many) needs a preservation on CD format (as it is an Eastwood movie too). If the score is too short maybe it could be coupled with Schifrin's THE BEGUILED (same Genre) or his score for CHARLEY VARRICK (to remain in the 70ies). What do you think about a possible Intrada/Schifrin/Universal CD line? Regards, Klaus. |

My guess is that all of the previously unreleased Malpaso titles scored by Schifrin had to have at least been considered by Intrada. My recollection of Joe Kidd is that there's plenty of music for it to be released on its own, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are unused and/or alternate cues to include as well. I'll take any and all previously unreleased Schifrin scores for Universal films with whatever priority Intrada feels makes sense to them. |
