One of Delerue's best action scores, with a riveting, unforgettable main theme and winner of the best score for a Canadian film in 1986... Unfortunately the current Canadian DVD has a somewhat washed-out picture and MONO sound !! |

I wonder if the tapes even exist. It would be a shame if they were lost considering this score is one of Delerue' s longer scores (the film is three hours long). |

I would definitely be in for this score. My Mom (she is a huge Georges Delerue fan) and I watched it when it aired on tv... and have both wanted this for a long time. I really hope this happens at some point. Can we add Escape From Sobibor to this list? Marvelous film and score. |

Unfortunately, I wouldn't count on this being released in full given that it's a Canadian recording. Roger stated that Funeral Home would be the last of such releases with current Canadian union fees in place. From the thread linked above: "Not really. We made it very clear this was a one-time deal and we would not pursue any further scores recorded in Canada based on their rates. The AFM makes it much easier to release scores recorded in the US and that's where we'd continue to focus. We'd already spent quite a bit of money to transfer and mix the 24-track and were passionate about getting this one across the finish line." |

It's entirely possible that the film's other production companies like Warner Bros./HBO or Colette Delerue has a copy of the tapes, but considering that DCM has no working relationship with either and Intrada does, I would mark down Sword of Gideon as "never going to happen." |
