We all know the show, and there's no denying that the scores were among the finest in television. There is of course the current album from GNP Crescendo that wonderfully captures the songs expertly performed by Scott Bakula. While the release has an excellent suite from the Emmy nominated score for the episode "Lee Harvey Oswald," it obviously lacks a comprehensive representation of the score music for the entire show. If possible, it would be nice to get a couple of two-disc sets that supplement the GNP Crescendo release and do well in representing much of Velton Ray Bunch & Mike Post's scores. |

Seconded. But no less than four CD's will do. The first two devoted to Post, including his good pilot score (complete, like the FSM "Knight Rider" pilot score) and ... ah hell, what am I kidding? This would have to be two volumes of 4CD sets. If we can fit all of Post's complete episode scores onto the first set, will have select episode scores by Bunch on the other (didn't, later on, Greg Edmonson contribute scoring -- or was that ghostwriting?). Bunch highlights (I don't have them memorized, so this is partial): "Lee Harvey Oswald" "Freedom" "Hurricane" and some episode where he is a scientist or some such, and there is a monkey. |

I've thought about La-La Land's approach to The X-Files by offering two volumes of 4-disc sets. However, as good as Quantum Leap's music is, I don't think it carries nearly as much demand as the music for The X-Files. A couple of 2-disc sets (2-disc sets being more customary for Intrada) should do well in covering the highlights. But, if they do sell really well, then I suppose more can always be made. |
