Tuff Turf was already mentioned in the suggestion box, but I think its more then worthy enough to have a topic on its own. This movie has one of the best scores ever and I am just wondering why has Jonathan Elias been sitting on his hands all those years, neglecting this gem. Probably its not his call and is upto the studio company that owns those rights. As everyone is aware of, the Tuff Turf, was released as a VOCALS ONLY soundtrack. Having many prominent artists, such as Marianne Faithful, Lene Lovich and so on. No accompanying instrumental music was added to the release. If you watch the movie, you will notice that there is a whole heap of instrumental music used throughout, derived or based on the intro theme and the music that Marianne Faithful uses in her vocal song. If an expanded release was to occure, it will easily take up a 2 Disc CD. The instrumental music used, is a wonderful mixture of synth, bassy, electronic sounds. There is no doubt that Mr. Jonathan did a superb job in scoring this movie and in my opinion, is his best soundtrack bar none. I just don't seem to understand why this score has not yet been released. Could it be of legal reasons? This re-release of this excellent soundtrack, with the complete instrumental score, would be a smart initiative to take on. |

It will be a tragedy if the "Tuff Turf" score doesn't get released anytime soon. Everyone who remembers watching it at the cinema's or television were youths and now all are old aged with white hair. You listening Intrada!!! |
