Now, knowing this will probably eventually get done anyway, I'm going to go ahead and suggest this one regardless. Having recently watched the film for the first time in fourteen years, and then matching it against the already-released CD, I have to say I am very disappointed so little of Hans Zimmer's score has been released. I hope in the future this changes. |

I went to go see it at the 3D re-release, and I agree, there's so much great stuff missing off the album. Particularly the film version of the stampede sequence. Definite day one buy if or when a label decides to do a complete album. |

Interesting. There seems to be even more material than is present in the final film, in that tracklist - I don't recall the "Scar, We're Hungry" scene having any music, for example. The entire score is a must-have, but "Kings Of The Past", the original unedited version of "...To Die For", "Reunion" and "The Return/King Of Pride Rock" are my top wanted cues. The battle version of the Simba/Mufasa theme playing during the final combat is some of the best scoring ever done by Zimmer, IMO. Fingers crossed that the much-awaited announcement over here isn't too far.

Intrada is the label with the most prospective future right now. I relish the thought of what Disney titles might be released in the future. I have no doubt The Lion King will be one of them, and that it will be released sooner rather than later. |

That's certainly possible - we created an online petition requesting Disney for the release of this score, and I promoted it in just about every Lion King, Hans Zimmer and film-music related site I could find on the Internet a few years ago. |
