Can I make a suggestion of two scores, two men, one name: Jerry.
Supergirl - Jerry Goldsmith. A highly imaginative, emotional, and often playful score that has always delighted me ever since I ran around my elementary school playground singing it! Both the Varese and Silva releases are, as we have all conducted, flawed. We have been grateful for them, and I still have BOTH the label releases, but the score is in DIRE need of remixing and remastering, also giving us the alternate tracks and the concert performances, and the score in it's entirety, which was not ENTIRELY complete with the Silva release. I had always hoped FSM would do the release after Logan's Run, Coma, Wild Rovers, and finally, Poltergeist. Gremlins being released was a real treat, and to have Supergirl would have put me in seventh heaven. I have no doubt Intrada would lay the rails for good with a release of Supergirl.
Beyond the Poseidon Adventure - Jerry Fielding. I run hot and cold with the film itself, however the music is undeniably a masterpiece as something only Fielding could have concocted. The score was never officially released, and Intrada seems to be the Jerry Fielding pride of all soundtrack labels, so this score, being one of his last, should not go unattended to. I am a little surprised, in fact, to see it not released already, given the track record of all the other Fielding scores released, so I remain ever hopeful that BTPA will one day soon fall upon (many) listening hears!
I thank you!
