With much elation for Varese Sarabande's fantastic releases of the Bernard Herrmann scores for The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, I've been thinking about how nice it would be to see releases of the scores for the 1980s version of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. There are very nice pieces of music featured in this anthology series that captures some of the greatness from the likes of Craig Safan, Michel Colombier, Thomas Newman, Basil Poledouris, and others. If possible, this could also provide the opportunity to get Danny Elfman's music for "The Jar" without having to buy the $500 Elfman/Burton set. |

I revisited many more episodes that I haven't seen in years. I would love to see a short anthology series of releases for a good portion of this show's scores, much like what Intrada did with Amazing Stories. Obviously not every score is necessary, but rather just a good sampling of the variety of styles presented. In addition to the more popular composers I previously mentioned, Kenneth Wannberg, Maribeth Solomon and Micky Erbe made some fine contributions to the series. |
