I thought I'd put a bit of (late) golden age at the top of the list. I can't find a thread for this one (I checked twice). There's obviously a problem with it, but no one has come out & said it's not going to happen, so I suppose no news is good news. |

Great score with some memorable themes. I first caught the film in the 90s when a VHS copy was played in a middle school class. I saw it again a couple years ago, and the score certainly grabbed me. I await for Varese to release an "Alfred Newman at 20th Century Fox" box. I forwent the Herrmann box, but I would certainly buy this one in a heartbeat. |

At worse the LP master (which would be available from Universal Music) might be a source if the elements at Fox are unusable or disappeared. |

Well I was right...it seems there will be a CD edition of this score shortly, using the original vinyl album materials. If no-one knows the label Real Gone Music, it may be because they're not a soundtrack specialist! (The price is also agreeable..) |

i still possess my vinyl copy which considering the age and amount of work it has done it's still in reasonable condition. if a CD of the orignal scoring session recording's became available i would purchase it without hesitation. |
