Considering the miracle Doug and the team achieved with the recent release of THE BLUE MAX, sonically outstripping statospherically all previous editions of this masterwork, what about a score which needs no introduction. Varese's groundbreaking complete edition of 1997 may be able to be improved upon. Its stereo spread was only occasionally convincing and the front/rear perspective was too often problematic. PLANET OF THE APES is a score where every note is important, and on Varese's edition too many details were recessed. So how about Intrada rising to the occasion with the latest restorative technology?
