It may be a bit much to expect the complete tracks from the Columbia Pictures vaults, but what about a transfer of the LP (which is an excellent representation of the score)? Intrada has had some dealings with Sony Music in the past. (Sony owns the Arista label.) |

The composer died late last year (at age 76), possibly encouaging some retrospective interest in such a project? |

I'd gladly buy a release of this score. As you said, this is a case where just a transfer of a hopefully pristine condition album master would be perfectly fine. |

It's interesting how the original album presentation was unusual for the time: over 20 cues, many rather short (around a minute or so). Most record priducers circa 1971 would have assembled a much smaller number. |

Considering the recent BD release features isolated score, elements SHOULD be available... SO what is the problem exactly? |

I'm feeling more optimistic as Quartet are just about to re-issue MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. At least this has been previously issued on CD: NICHOLAS AND ALEXANDRA has never had an official CD release. |

I emailed a question to Screen Archives who have the Nicholas and Alexandra blu-ray available and asked them why the scores released as isolated score tracks on DVD and Blu-Ray aren't released on CD. They say it's because it very expensive to release CD and it cost little or nothing to release them on isolated tracks. Things like these make me hate money. |
