As we've had the original tracks for LAST EMBRACE and TIME AFTER TIME in the last few years, is it too much to hope for the Maestro's last store for a dramatic film? Intrada has a good association with MGM. (It's always been a mystery to me why the original tracks weren't released back in 1981, as the score was recorded in England by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and re-use fees shouldn't have been a problem.) |

Roger, I'm a bit confused. How can they control the original tracks as they've never released them. The album which they brought out was a re-recording done in Nuremberg. It would be a similar situation to LAST EMBRACE, wouldn't it? Varese released a re-recording but Intrada brought out the original tracks... |

It looks as though you've left no stone unturned Roger, but all to no avail. Any idea why Varese never released the original tracks? |

I would think after Intrada releasing LAST EMBRACE (Love it) and FSM putting out a more complete TIME AFTER TIME (  ) that Varese would wake up and release "something" for this great film and score???But, thanks Roger, for giving us a heads up on what has gone on for this one. |

This is a time when the great Roger Feigelson and Douglas Fake put not-so-subtle pressure on Varese to finally let this gem see the light of day Hail to the kings, baby!

Just typical of Varese Sarabande...they re-issue this in a ridiculously inadequate edition of just 1000 units, and it sells out within hours. The injustice, of course, is that it's their own re-recording done in Germany. No-one (even Roger) has ever given me an explanation as to why the original tracks performed by the Royal Philharmonic have never been issued. |

And furthermore, they didn't even put The Last Embrace along with it. I doubt they care that I didn't buy it though. |

Just one of the many reasons why I dislike Varese Sarabande with a passion. How does a company like them gain film score rights "in perpetuity?" They aren't even capable of a good release of the original soundtracks, let alone a complete release. |

Do you think we could bribe them into releasing the original master tapes with a double-sized box of Mrs. Field's cookies along with an extended edition of "The Devil in Miss Jones?" Or would that not work? |

I own the Varese Sarabande LP of Rozsa's score to this movie and I was dissappointed because it doesn't sound like the original film version. This score needs a proper release so Varese Sarabande needs to stop hogging it and get it done or let Intrada do it for them. |

Just a note for those who missed out: I noticed that the Encore release of the re-recording is on iTunes. The Encore releases of Tai-Pan and Crimes of the Heart are there as well. Maybe Varese will upload these to HDtracks at some point. |
