3 out of the original 6 film scores have gotten an expanded/complete release. It's high time 4 and 6 got theirs |

I'm sure there are a variety of reasons why this wouldn't work but since they're both owned by UMG, I'd love to see a label release both in one shot, with the score for Star Trek IV on disc 1 and the score for Star Trek VI on disc 2. Any bonus tracks for VI could probably fit on the end of disc 1 since IV's score is relatively short. |

Interesting idea for a two-fer, but I suspect they would be separate releases. IMHO, I really think they should be. Of course, both would be purchased and cherished the day they arrived. ![]() |

So agree with this... Really enjoyed Leonard Rosenman's score for the 4th... but, it is Cliff Eidelman's Part 6 that really needs an expanded. One of my favorite Trek movies and score. |

Add my voice to this chorus. Both scores deserve expansion, especially VI. The OST presentation of VI is very good, but there are some great cues that, by necessity, were not included. |

Count me in for both Soundtracks, so that I can finally retire my audio tapes of them! |

I loved the distinct sound/feel of Star Trek 6. I recall sitting in the theater on opening night and being transported to another universe with the opening titles - a much darker universe than I was used to being transported to. Which was refreshing. I still recall my first thought while the credits rolled - trying to guess the composer (pre-googling IMDB) - Elfman came to mind. I had hoped I'd be hearing more of Eidelman - in the over-the-top sci-fi genre. While 4 is a wonderful film (I recently had the good fortune to sit in a theater with none other than Harve Bennet in Ashland, Oregon for a screening of ST-IV) its music has, for some reason, the least amount of pull for me than any of the other original series ST films (though light years ahead of the sad - sad showing of Generations Made-For-TV-sounding attempt by Mr. McCarthy - an off day perchance?) Oh well. I kind of forgot my point. |

I would definitely love to have Leonard Rosenman's Star Trek IV in expanded/complete form, including the prologue music, more music from the whales hunt, etc. |

TVH is missing, including the prologue, about 8 and a half minutes (not counting any possible un-used or alternate cues). Probably in a minority, but I don't think that's enough to justify an expanded CD. Maybe it it was counted as "extras" and put on a CD of another score in a similar style, would be a better route. |
