This is probably so obvious that the good people at Intrada have already thought of it, but after seeing the wonderful 2 Disc Patton set (and the 3 disc Great Escape), it makes one think about other classic soundtracks that had great OST arrangements that were re-recordings of great film scores. Jaws seems to fit that model nicely. The OST and original recording both have their merits, and both are in severe need of a solid re-master. I can see Intrada pulling this off beautifully, packaging JAWS as a 2 Disc set. What say you? |

I forget, and keep getting conflicting reports on this -- is the original album a rerecording or not? |

The most crucial film score of all time should really have had this treatment a long time ago. Especially when you think that 'lesser' scores have. I woud love to see something like the Batman: The Dark Knight deluxe edition. Oversized booklet, 2 disks all housed in a really beautiful bit of packaging. Some scores just deserve to have that little something extra ![]() |

Dream bigger, people...how about a Jaws box set with all *four* Jaws scores in complete remastered versions, with unused cues and differing album recordings remastered too? Yavar |

(To me the Decca's collector's edition (released in 2000) was greatly remastered and offered some unreleased portions. So... a release for Spielberg's DUEL (Goldenberg) is definitely MORE URGENT!!! ![]() |

I don't think Jaws would work. Unlike Patton, both the album & original have been released on CD, & you can still buy both versions quite cheap at Amazon. Jaws 2, now that would work! |

The Decca complete original score is just fine. The old MCA re-recording of the score actually, in my opinion, kind of has a good feel about it from the inferior remastering; some of that would likely be lost in a remastering. |

The Decca release is a wonderful presentation of the score, but could be improved upon soundwise |

I thought I'd give this thread a deserved bump. Intrada, please? ![]() |

Jaws: The Revenge would be nice. A set of all four with competent mastering of first-generation elements would be great, but that's really wishing for too much. |
