In the past years Intrada has presented us with an amazing collection of Jerry Fielding’s work. Eleven albums! More titles than any other label.

My question is: what’s next?

My personal requests are: “Beyond The Poseidon Adventure (1979)”, “The Gauntlet (1977)”, and “The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976).” I’ve try to locate one copy of that old Screen Archives Entertainment JFC-1, but it was a search without success. I hope Intrada may consider these titles.

PS. Does someone can inform me of any Fielding’s album release through Varèse Sarabande?

I do agree that Intrada ought to release any Fielding score that they can get their hands on.

However, I doubt Intrada will be the ones to release your three requests, because they are either Warner Bros. properties (a studio Intrada has never dealt with, as far as I know), or they're Clint Eastwood films and hence owned by Malpaso Productions. I asked Lukas Kendall via e-mail a couple months ago about a possible FSM release for The Gauntlet, but he told me that Malpaso Productions (Eastwood's studio) were the rights holders and hence it was a no-go.

However, Malpaso was willing to let Aleph Records release the Dirty Harry scores, so you never know...

As for your other question, I believe the only Fielding release that Varese Sarabande has ever done was The Wild Bunch on LP, but I could be wrong. The Wild Bunch is also Warner Bros.

At this point, I feel that Film Score Monthly (or La-La Land / Varese Club) has the best chances of releasing any of those scores, due to their relationship with WB.

Based on this information we have to assume that Robert Townson is not very fond of Fielding’s music. Since Intrada and Film Score Monthy are today the two labels that more represent Fielding’s music, I hope they could be able to realize these titles. The quality of their albums is just amazing. With special attention to details, what makes them my go-for professionals for projects like these ones.

Anyway I am eager for more titles as soon as it possible.
