Brainstorm (1983) James Horner. This album is almost thirty years old. Maybe its time to be revisited and re-released as a 2CD set. Including the music as composed for the movie and the re-mastered version of the old album. Just an idea. Thanks! ![]() |

An Extended CD would be enough and more than welcome! ![]() |

Fond memories. Yes, it is nearing it's 30th birthday. I was lucky enough to see this on one of the larger screens in Maryland (my home state). It was an amazing experience of a movie. Though it did not ignite the box office on fire, it was a terrific picture full of excellent performances. Most notably, Louise Fletcher. Her character also has the pivotal scene of the pic, enhanced to perfection by James Horner's beautiful and bombastic ("Lillian's Heart Attack") music. Yes, a revisit of this early Horner score would be most welcome. Superb. |

Isn't the varese album a re-recording anyway? I would love to see, at the very least, a remastered edition of the album happen. I would also love to see a full fledge special edition of the movie, with proper widescreen formatting (i.e. one where the 1:85:1 scenes aren't boxed in) and a documentary or two. |

Someone else may have more information, but I think this was one of the very first digital recordings release by Varèse Sarabande. |

Another thought. They could include Douglas Trumbull's '85 Short-Movie “Let’s Go’’. ![]() |

The Album is a fantastic re-recording, and I enjoy it a great deal. If the film versions of the cues, and additional material, can be found, I suspect it would be a good CD release. |

The existing release of the album recording is perfection with regard to dynamics. A modern day Varese remastering would almost surely destroy that experience in favor of normalization. Anyway, those who want the film recording on album must wait for Varese to do it. So instead of saying "Varese is shit," perhaps lying and saying that "Varese is da shit" will get it released. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7121&hilit=brainstorm |
