Yeah, I know how hard this is to get released and I'm not expecting an official complete release anytime soon, but still, I thought I'd like to hear others' opinions about this wonderful score. Personally, I consider this to be the finest score coming from Hans' pen on an emotional level. There indeed are a few portions that seem to be hurried through and Zimmer has done better orchestration in his later scores, but so far none of his other scores touched me emotionally as much as Lion King. Especially the majestic performance of the main theme during Mufasa's ghost scene and the grand reprise of Simba's theme and the Circle Of Life chorus in the finale never fail to give me the shivers, and ...To Die For is IMO the most exciting and frightening action cue ever coming from Hans. I could go on and on about the many other such powerful moments in the score.
This makes it doubly painful that the OST release is so poorly done and over 45 minutes of wonderful music is missing. Despite all the odds it'll be literally a dream come true for me if this thing eventually gets its well deserved complete CD release, it's the only one I'm craving so badly for!
