It's also pretty certain Harry Gregson-Williams' upcoming Prince Of Persia will also be a victim as I doubt it has any songs. I just hope Alice In Wonderland has some Miley Cyrus songs so at least some of Danny Elfman's score can get a CD release. I too am somewhat optimistic for an eventual negotiation with Disney for limited edition CDs... |

Seeing as a copy of the actual Oscar promo is currently commanding $250 on eBay (I was willing to go up to $100), I'll be content to wait for an official release from one of our labels at some hopefully-not-too-far-in-the-future point. Intrada hamsters, is there a chance? ![]() CK |

Them being 'legit' is a bit questionable. There have been a number of reports about up-sampling and selling things without permission. |

I haven't bought any high resolution (i.e., better than CD) material from them, but I do know that padded/upsampled high resolution downloads is something that HDtracks has faced on a continual basis because it's what is sometimes offered from the rights owners. After numerous customer complaints, the people operating HDtracks have been making the effort to inform those companies of what real high resolution means. As for claims of them selling some things without permission, I didn't know about that; my interest in the site was mainly focused on soundtracks (the ones I bought are definitely CD quality, by the way). Outside of soundtracks, I know for sure that their Rhino label albums are sold with permission. |

http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f13-a ... one-18995/ While this is particularly about upsampling from CD quality to higher than it, I've also seen reports that some of the CD quality ones -- in cases where there's no other FLAC available -- are transcoded from lossy. |

Interesting, even HDtracks is questioned there which further points to this lossless download model needing better and more knowledgeable oversight in order to prevent unsuspecting customers from being duped. At least those knowledgeable about this stuff apparently might be able to get a refund whenever they spot such BS, wherever the fault may actually be in this tangled web. Of course, physical high resolution media had plenty of upsampled albums as well. I was surprised by just how much of my DVD-Audio collection had been upsampled when analyzing them by way of a DVD-Audio playback plug-in for foobar2000. Deception abound. |

It looks like the price of this score has come down in the last couple of years, although $81 is still a bit steep. Isn't it about time this was released officially? |
