At the top of my list is his absolutely gorgeous score for the 1993 film A Home of Our Own. The opening montage of family photos with Convertino's music hooked me instantly. Others I've heard samples from and would love to see released in fuller form include Milk Money, The Waterdance, Queen of Hearts, and of course, Frankenweenie (co-written with David Newman). |

Watching a movie on TV called "Pie In the Sky". It's quite pretty, and got some Thomas Newman elements. Convertino co-composed a couple works with David newman, and has worked with Thomas on a number of songs (though I don't know if any score). EDIT: I went to bed, so I didn't finish the film, but it was actually sort of good. I could tell some actual love and care went into it and it wasn't jsut another crummy love story. Liked the score, would love to hear it apart from the film. |
