From what i've heard and i don't know if it's true or not, Horner has the masters to this score and let's say that it's one score he doesn't want out. Now this is what i heard from a friend of mine who i've asked about this in the past. It's a good score and i'm very sure one of the reasons that he got the job on Star Trek 2. There are recording sessions of this score out somewhere....

With Horner's latest Intrada releases, he and the label wanted a good listening experience over a complete score. Maybe it's not as cut and dry as him not wanting a complete score released. Star Trek II has disgusting sound compared to Krull, and it's a damn shame that can't undergo a full remaster....as far as we know, anyway. Horner is (understandably) embarrassed by Battle probably because of the poor brass performances. They were certainly enthusiastic, but there are a lot of flubbed notes in there. |
