I just posted this tirade at FSM, and I know Studio Canal isn't really Intrada's thing, but....

Ok, in the midst of the big summer score talk....I just rented this 'thing', have no idea what it is, except it's a 1980 Jarre score, I've never heard ONE mention of it, and it's been re-released by Anchor Bay via Studio Canal (MV Gerhard, LA LA Land are you reading!!!!!!!)

I'm just running the menus in the background now, and am loving the score so far that is just looping over and over....I really hope one of you guys dig this one up and issue an album!

The movie probably sucks (it's some Joseph Wambaugh adaptation, a crime/cop/romance story with Robert Foxworth, Harry Dean Stanton & Paula Prentiss), but I rented it for Jarre.
Anyone have any ideas/thoughts about this one?

The Black Marble is a lovely romantic comedy that has become a cult movie, after an initial release that was overlooked by both audiences and most film critics (although a few did praise it... including me, lol, when I used to write film reviews for the press). After The Onion Field, it was the second installment of a diptych produced by Joseph Wambaugh based on two of his novels, both directed by Harold Becker and produced by Wambaugh's company Black Marble Productions. Both were good, but I guess Wambaugh did not give a third try for the poor receptions. A pity. Robert Foxworth and Paula Prentiss are wonderful as a pair of detectives who fall in love, while Harry Dean Stanton does his usual best as the "villain". And the music... is very good. Up to Jarre's highest standard. I hope you enjoyed it... eight years ago, when you posted this?
