Seeing as Intrada has only just started releasing Disney stuff, I think it would be too much to ask for a release of any of the big animated scores at this point. So I think, in order to start venturing into the Disney animation territory, would the scores of the early Disney shows like Ducktales and Talespin, which have been totally unreleased, be a good place to start?

Ducktales certainly has a very entertaining and warm score which Ron Jones recorded with a quite small orchestra and yet produced a really great musical piece! The episodes are available to watch on Youtube in case anyone wants to hear how nice this score is, and a few cues are also on Ron's official website.

Any hope for a release of this thing in the near future? :D

Yeah, it's great music. His site used to have a nice suite of it available, though last time I checked it was inaccessible.

It was mostly cued up though, lots of the same music can be heard all over the place. I wouldn't be surprised if a full CD could get a good majority of the music.

Jones premiered his new site about three of four weeks ago. IT's got tons of unreleased score from Ducktales, ST:TNG, Familg Uy, and other things -- check it out!

Sadly only about 5 cues from Ducktales though.

I loved Ducktales growing up - mostly because it so closely followed the basics set up in its source material by the late great comic book artist and Uncle Scrooge creator, Carl Barks.

The show had a great feeling of adventure and fun, and had wonderful little themes and adventure music in the style of the great 80's adventure movies such as Indiana Jones.

I'd like to add the idea of releasing the magnificent score to Ducktales: The Movie (by David Newman) as well, as it ranks up there as one of my favorite scores by him.

With the wonderful new release of David Newman's DuckTales: The Movie score, I hope a release of Ron Jones' equally amazing score for the TV series is not too far off. It's such a wonderful musical experience filled with lush sweeping orchestral themes, fun jazzy moments and full of heart, charm, suspense, danger and exciting action moments. Even a release of the 5-part "Treasure of the Golden Suns" pilot episode would be fantastic.

I would love a Duck Tales release, but a complete boxset would be expensive, especially to someone outside North America. It's what has put me off buying big soundtrack boxsets in the past. I'd prefer separate volumes a la Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers.

That is definitely the way forward I think.
