As if you couldn't tell by my other posts, I have been awaiting a Psycho II release for years. Yes, a great pairing of Goldsmith and Franklin!

Hi, new to the forums

I'm really hoping that Psycho II gets a full release. It was one of my first soundtracks - on cassette. Always kinda bugged me that it seemed so short and it was in order.

I rigged up a microphone to a recorder and recorded the missing parts from the tv broadcast, sound was poor but the moment when the kids are in the cellar has great music.

One of my favorite Goldsmith scores, in desperate need of a re-mastered and complete presentation.

I think Roger mentioned that Intrada was trying to get a release of this in the works. They've got the relationship with Universal, so it's definitely possible if the rights can be worked out.

Perhaps as a 30th anniversary release in 2013?

You're lucky to have the Varese release. Still, it'd be nice to see Psycho II back on the market. I remember finding the Goldsmith score to be extremely jarring when I was a pre-teenager, mainly because I was expecting something quite a bit more driving and violent like Herrmann's music for the original film. It seemed almost serene, by comparison. When I was older, I understood what Goldsmith was trying to get.

Regarding an expansion, I've never really broken the film down and compared it to the album to find out which cues are missing from the soundtrack. I'm sure that someone like Allardyce might have a better idea.

Just watched the Scream Factory blu-ray which looks amazing - I saw things I'd never noticed in the dark VHS and DVD editions. I posted screenshots here http://blushots.weebly.com/psycho-ii.html
One of the main things that occurred to me, yet again, is just how great this score is and how I'd love to hear all those missing cue's.

Right now is the best time for Intrada to get this one out to us fans.
