I hope the second release is a certain Broughton box set!!! :D

Which boxset are you thinking of? *edit* Just checked your other posts and I see you mean his Disney theme park music

Yeah, at this point I’m mainly just being hopeful. A year ago I asked Broughton who advised that Intrada was waiting for Disney to sign off on the project so who knows. Would be an awesome Christmas gift though!

This is my holy grail of holy grails. But I fear it is too much to hope for.

What about a William Alwyn box set? Maybe a collection of his films fulfills the clues...

Don't think Alwyn had much to do with "Hollywood History"

(coincidentally, I'm listening to the Alwyn Vol. 3 CD from Chandos right now)

Whatever it is, it sounds like Goldsmith all the way.

I wonder if it's The Don Is Dead. My recollection of the score isn't the greatest, but I do know that it is in this vein. Early '70s Universal recordings have sounded well preserved, so that can explain the good sound quality.

I could not hear the track on my iPhone
But based on Doug’s comment, I’m kinda thinking you guys found the masters to Trevor Jones’ FREEJACK

You should give the sample a listen.

I'm now thinking that it is Damnation Alley, because Doug mentioned that the score is oft-requested with tracks long thought to be lost. There's a bit too much wordsmithing involved to determine exactly how the tracks were assembled, but we'll find out soon enough.

That's not 'considered lost to the ages'.

They weren't missing. Trevor Jones just didn't want it out.

Also coming is a long-awaited gem from yet another legendary composer, in this case an incredible action score oft-requested and finally made possible due newly restored elements and newly prepared tracks once considered lost to the ages.

Damnation Alley fits the description better than the other two. I was always a bit baffled about this title because one party would say 'the orchestral elements are missing' and someone else would say 'no, it's the synth elements that are missing' and there was never a consensus about what was actually missing.

Now that would be nothing sure of amazing, maybe it's been staring us right in the face all along with Roger's make your own cover thread.

That was said before I saw Doug's comment.

Between Roger's audio-fragment tease and Doug's statement, both upcoming Intrada releases are confirmed among my guesses for the first time ever. These two will be neither Hugo Friedhofer nor THE DON IS DEAD!

Friend of mine bets for Gone in the Wind, and, this one in quite a wishful thinking (it's one of his holy grail) Terminator 2 Judgement Day.
