One is the sequel to a score we released last year. The other makes it's third appearance on CD, with two important updates. One is the original LP program (all that's been released before) is not overmastered so it restores the original, more natural acoustic of the small orchestral. Second we now feature the complete score from the original mono sessions as well. Quite dynamic sound for a mono recording, too. It's an amazing work considering the conditions under which it was scored.

Yep,
THE MONKEY KING 2 seems very possible....

The other could be another John Barry title...
THE LION IN WINTER perhaps?

Could the second release be The Last Valley? I know it's been released on CD from Silva and Intrada before, so could it be that one?

Sequel is almost certain to be Return to Witch Mountain or Monkey King 2 (Monkey King was barely last year, coming out in December). Outside chance of Homeward Bound II, but I think Roger would have mentioned "expanding" the first score last year rather than simply saying Intrada released it.

As for the other title, someone at FSM guessed Chinatown and I like that guess, assuming that the reason Varese left the complete score off their release was because it only existed in mono. Incidentally, Varese's reissue of the LP program was ultimately put on sale and I think only sold out in this past year.

More Tinkerbell? About time ;))
Monkey King 2 isn't probably very likely since it isn't released in the US until October/November and probably it won't be released until then...

I would say that Return from the Witch Mountain or Homeward II are the most likely.

Hmmm... Chinatown actually fits VERY well all the clues,,... but isn't that one still controled by Varese?

I wouldn't think so. Varese didn't release the original Chinatown album; ABC Records did:

Varese has merely licensed it out on two occasions. Their latest time doing that has now sold out, after it was put on sale last year.

You are correct about Chinatown. Hopefully if it indeed IS Chinatown, they'll use the original album artwork. The question is how much more music is missing. There's an unmentionable that practically has the entire score at around 30 min unless you count alternates and source music which would easily warrant a standalone disc. Either way, it would be great to have this in full glory.

I hope it's Return From Witch Mountain by Schifrin. There's a composer we definitely need more music from.

Agreed about Schifrin, hopefully Intrada can get to Earth Star Voyager from the Disney vaults.
