No CDs this time, but the first in our new line of 180-gram vinyl. It's a reissue of a long out of print Intrada CD in the low-budget horror/fantasy realm by a composer we love in that genre from the mid 80s. Features all new custom art.

Either would be great, but I'm especially in love with Flowers in the Attic. I really hope to see that one expanded and remastered soon enough.

This is not going to be the norm, I'm sure. This release schedule makes perfect sense as CD releases can easily be lost in the shuffle at this moment. Some pricey soundtrack albums were recently released (e.g., Mission: Impossible and Elm Street sets), and there's even more coming soon, such as LLL's Lost in Space box.

I hope that vinyl only releases do not become a regular thing. I have no problem with vinyl being an option for people who love the more retro sound, but vinyl as a medium is so limiting and fragile compared to CD.

The fact that these scores won’t be released on CD (certainly not until the vinyl sells out) is making my blood boil.

There are very few examples of that, and so far only one when it comes to Intrada releases; that one Intrada album was already released on CD. People should celebrate something that may bring in more capital and make lesser appreciated scores more possible on CD in a declining market.

In an ideal world people would embrace these beautifully sounding and mastered recordings on 96/24 Blu-ray Audio and/or download, but the world we live in is far from perfect.

Blu-Ray Audio as a standard would be great. More music to a disc and the inability to scratch it as easily as a CD. It's a shame it hasn't taken off yet.

Back to the Stone Age...When I bought my last LP, I was still young and handsome...Guess now I'm just handsome.
Luckily I held on to my old cathode ray tube TVset. (Warmer colours, less aggressive image than flat screens ). Who knows, in 6 months I could be the coolest caveman in town.
As they say in the vinyl business: Groovy!
