As disappointing as I'm sure the title leak was, I'm ecstatic about this release. By far my most anticipated of the year.

So, relish in the idea that so many of us are going to absolutely LOVE it

While the Jaws movies produced 1 great film out of 4, all 4 film scores are worthy of expanded releases. Can't wait to hear the film cues away from the movie.

I can't believe it's been almost 8 years since Intrada released the LP program.

In spite of the leak, congrats to Intrada on another fantastic release.

What could the other title be? Well in his "corner" Doug mentioned it should be a suprise "knock on wood"... just a thought but with all this talk of golden age releases could it be Cassablanca? I watched it again recently and im sure they sing a song called...Knock on wood. Just a random guess as I never have a clue normally.

I was thinking that the upcoming "surprise" title was the one that got leaked...
I guess that's not the case.

Well,
CONAN THE DESTROYER - Basil Poledouris
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS - Elmer Bernstein
are forethcoming and could be next, or it's a completely unmentioned gem...

like
CANDLESHOE - Ron Goodwin
or
DAMNATION ALLEY - Jerry Goldsmith (with missing electronic elements found)
etc

The other release is quite recent -- from 2013 in fact and composed by a guy who's been represented on Intrada many times. It was great to get this one out finally. I'd say it's overlooked -- but it's not as there have been continual requests for it. It's season has finally arrived!

EDIT: Nevermind, IMDB says that never premiered anywhere until January 2014. Dang!

Could it be James Horner's rejected Romeo and Juliet score?

An FSMer figured it out - it has to be Christopher Young's The Killing Season.

Hopefully The Monkey King, Romeo and Juliet Rejected, and Seventh Son are all in the works somewhere too....

Definitely sounds like Killing Season! Young's best score in the last 15 years...

Cool! Hopefully his even better scores for MONKEY KING and SPIDERMAN 3 will follow one day too.

Still looking forward to 2 of 4, which is my favorite of them all.

Jaws 2 is certainly a curious situation. Here we have a dynamite score by one of the absolute most famous film composers ever, and we haven't even seen a reissue of the very good album that has been out-of-print for decades. Weird.

Yes. JAWS 2 is an excellent score. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I don't think there can be a lot of music missing, and the actually released album plays very well as it is. I don't see how a chronological order could improve the listening flow in this case. However, it is still overdue for a remastered release with good liner notes. JAWS 2 is among my favorite score by John Williams.

On this other release, I just played the disc. It's the first time I've heard this score outside of the film. The composer has done a stunning job of assembling this album. He took a classical approach and assembled the music into several long movements. He also recorded some new things to add into the program. Now it will probably drive the folks who want everything C&C bananas, but if those folks can open their hearts and minds and allow themselves to get absorbed in this musical journey, they'll be richly rewarded! Just a great album. It really showcases the artistry over the function of the music.

Young is a very good album arranger. Besides, Joe could probably use any break he can get from having to list a silly 50 or so cue titles on each of these albums.

I haven't seen Killing Season, but I can imagine something in the manner of: "But, where's the simple 15-second low brass motif when De Niro viciously eats the apple?" :P
