One is from a hit drama that airs right after Once Upon a Time (hint: It's REVENGE). The other is a double header -- one early 90s drama score that is gorgeous paired with a late 80s bittersweet teen comedy. Simply a really enjoyable album.

Are both scores in the double-header by the same composer?

It can't be the Safan double-header you mentioned last month as I believe he did not score any teen comedies in the late 80s.

How about SHE'S OUT OF CONTROL (1989) Alan Silvestri for the late 80's comedy? I have the song version on cassette still. I just don't know if this movie could be considered bittersweet.

No, not the same composer.

I saw someone mention Can't Buy Me Love on the FSM forum. That sounds plausible for the 80s title.

As for the title it's paired with, that leaves another Disney-owned film. John Morris' Stella seems like a possibility. I recall that being a rather short and sometimes gorgeous score.

That said, there are probably many possibilities.

Adventures in Babysitting (Kamen) or Summer School (Elfman) for the late 80s teen comedy? I wouldn't mind a Teen Wolf/Teen Wolf Too either! Or Once Bitten!

And when the heck is Short Circuit 2 coming!?

I'm going to guess David Newman's PARADISE for the early 90s drama.

Can't Buy Me Love would be an unexpected surprise!

Oh I think I got it!

How about this double header:

Paradise by David Newman and... "Heartbreak" Hotel by Georges Delerue! The latter came out in 1989 and was directed by Chris Columbus and it's definitely a Disney title. :D

I just noticed an update by Doug. Your guess seems the best thus far given that both composers have had many releases on the Intrada label. I believe Folk only had four, so that likely rules out Can't Buy Me Love. It will be interesting to see (and more importantly, hear) what they are.

Well, there wasn't that many Delerue releases on Intrada either...
Definitely not that much more than by Robert Folk.

Unless I forgot something:

Robert Folk:
- Beastmater II
- In the Army Now
- Selected Suites
- Toy Soldiers
- Troll in Central Park

Georges Delerue:
- Black Stallion Returns
- Exposed
- Maxie
- Memories of Me
- Pick up Artist
- Rapture
- Walk with Love + Death

5 vs 7 isn't that much of a difference...
Probably both are possible... also Intrada has been releasing Robert Folk scores since the early 90s, while all of Delerue's are more recent. Not that it would matter since the clues don't specify length of the collaboration between the composer and Intrada, but only state that there has been quite a few releases of their music...
but no matter what it is, if it is really coupled with David Newman's beautiful score, I am definitely in!

Delerue was also featured on two of Intrada's Amazing Stories anthologies.

I wasn't sure if Folk's Selected Suites counted since that was a "promo" released under a different label name if I remember correctly.

There's virtually no music in HEARTBREAK HOTEL so it's obviously not that. I don't even know why Delerue was credited in that film.
